No Blooms in the Triangle

Food Lion will not move the newer, flashier and some-more tech-savvy Bloom stores to the Triangle after all.

The Salisbury association reliable Monday that it is pulling plans to open 4 Bloom stores in this market. The 4 propertiessome of that are already underneath developmentwill all turn Food Lion stores instead.

Spokeswoman Christy Phillips-Brown pronounced the association will concentration on augmenting the series of Bloom stores in existent markets rather than expanding in to new ones. Raleigh was the usually marketplace in to that Food Lion was ostensible to enhance Bloom this year.

The stores are well known for selling to younger shoppers, with facilities such as recipe kiosks and scanner guns.

Of the 4 stores, the one in Morrisville on Morrisville-Carpenter Road and the one in Clayton on Athletic Club Boulevard will open by the finish of the year, Phillips-Brown said. The alternative two, on Ten-Ten Road in Cary and on Ray Road in Raleigh, will follow.

Phillips-Brown did not order out an contingent enlargement of Bloom in to the market, though she pronounced there are no plans at this time. The Bloom chain, that was introduced in 2004, has 66 stores, together with one opening in Charlotte this week.
